Rosie has been teaching Vajrasati yoga in Brighton, Newhaven and Seaford for thirteen years, and her drop in classes continue to attract a lively group of local yogis.
A Londoner by birth, she moved South in 1987 and fell in love with the Sussex landscape and especially Seaford’s beach and coastline.
She also tuned into the spiritual magic of Seaford and in addition to yoga she leads & attends local meditation groups. Rosie has taught seven holidays in Spain and eight in West Crete. Unfortunately she has been unable to return there last year, nor this year, but looks forward to 2022. After six years leading a popular weekend at Claridge House, Rosie is returning this year in August.
Rosie started regular yoga practice in 1999 on her doctor’s advice as a way to keep her arthritic knees moving. She trained in Iyengar yoga for two years, and subsequently attended Hatha, Scaravelli, and Khundalini classes. It was the Vajrasati Yoga School which brought everything together, and she felt she had found her spiritual home.
She graduated from the Vajrasati teacher training course and holds a 500hr Yoga Alliance accredited teaching qualification. She has also completed further training to teach students with ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, elements of which she uses with students who have other limitations to their practice.
Rosie’s teaching focuses on using the breath and she encourages students to work meditatively, listening closely to their own bodies and breath, and using their inner resources to develop postures only as the body allows, and without grasping. The classes are therefore suitable for everyone whatever their age and level of experience, including complete beginners. They are also deeply enriching and great fun!
